Every couple of years or so, Wizards produces a new Magic the Gathering core set of reprints which will help define the Type 2 format for the next couple years. Usually this would be the same case but not this year! The research and development team over at Wizards has cooked up Magic 2010, or "M10" as they like to call it, as the next Magic Core set. 11th Edition is gone and Magic 2010 is here to stay. Not only has the name changed but the content has as well. For starters, only half of Magic 2010 set will be reprints and the other half will be new cards exclusive to Magic 2010 only. So get ready for some new jaw dropping cards, like Mythics and Planeswalkers. Also be treated with player favorites like Birds of Paradise and Serra Angel along with all the new cards which have never been printed before. The last major change coming is that we'll see a new Core Set every summer from now on! That means we will get Magic 2011 in the summer of 2010. Magic 2010 will be legal in Type 2 for one year and rotate out with the Shards of Alara block. Each following Magic 20XX product will also be legal for that Type 2 "year" with all rotations happening in October with the new major block release.
