Earth is losing horriblely due to the Zeon's mobile suit technology(Zaku). The Earth Federation constucts an array of top secret ships and mobile suits(Gundam). Gundam is housed in "White Base" a new Federation battleship. The White Base and Gundam are attacked when they are packing up to head to earth. The ship's crew is killed and it is taken over by refugees and unexperienced soliders. They face great difficulty with the Zeon forces and within their own ranks.   Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Section Gundam Seed is a story about the struggles between Earth Alliance (Naturals �E� normal human beings) and Zaft (Coordinators - genetically engineered human with superior abilities). The conflict starts as bitter competition over economic resources, and soon erupted in open warfare. Roughly one year after the devastating attack of �E�Bloody Valentine�E�, Zaft mobile suit forces launched a sudden attack on Heliopolis �E� an otherwise neutral colony.   Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny Section Two years after the war in CE 73, conflicts between ZAFT and the Earth heat up again. ZAFT's, which now lead by Gilbert Durandal, new top pilot is the young Shin Asuka. Shin's eyes are full of sorrow as his family was killed in Orb during the war. Meanwhile, Athrun is torn between protecting Cagalli in Orb and doing something about the war.
